One of the wonderful things about Jesus was that He unashamedly associated Himself with people that culture wanted nothing to do with. In this episode, we observe His interaction with one such person, Matthew the tax collector. He was a hated individual in the eyes of his own people, but see how Jesus reaches out to him for the purpose of bringing him to salvation an recruiting him to follow Him.
